Details About Opportunity
People in the Finance teams are responsible for the financial planning and analysis of a company, allowing the organization to make well-informed commercial decisions. Financial analysts partner with management to provide both strategic and tactical financial planning, budgeting, forecasting modeling, monitoring, and analysis to help the Company meet its strategic objectives.
What you will do:
You will work closely with the CEO to help us produce regular reports using financial data, and work collaboratively across the entire finance team to analyze business performance and strategy.
Key Responsibilities
Working with our CEO, your volunteer role includes:
- Prepare, evaluate, and report key financial and operating metrics. Identify trends, track progress, and make recommendations on areas for improvement.
- Support and improve the implementation of financial planning and data systems.
- Analysis of and direction on improvement initiatives for working capital.
- Perform budget versus actual analysis, and take ownership in cross-functional projects to steer effectively budget and business decisions.
- Run market research, including the search for potential investment pools,
- Guide and participate in process and reporting improvement projects and initiatives to improve reporting and forecast accuracy.
- Conduct market and competition analysis to support investment decisions and prepare preliminary financial analysis
- Support the preparation of monthly/quarterly management reports, Board presentations, and other financial reporting.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in accounting and finance (preferred)
- High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Knowledge in consumer electronics and the retail environment (preferred)
Skills and Requirements:
- Genuine interest in early-stage startups and technology
- Good with PowerBI, Tableau, and Powerpoint tools.
- Undergraduate degree or similar education in accounting and finance.
- Interest in technology and the ability to quickly learn new products and features
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Access to a smartphone (iPhone or Android).
- Initiative-taker with a strong commitment to driving results
- Enthusiastic, initiative-taking, and outgoing personality that is comfortable in a competitive environment
- Professional demeanor, excellent verbal, and written communication skills
- Creative and tech-savvy.
- Flexibility to be able to switch between projects or pivot quickly should the requirements of the project change.
- Fluent in English
Acquired Skills:
- Learn to thrive in a dynamic startup team.
- Get a real-time experience in system financial modeling and inventory valuation.
- Learn the importance of paying attention to detail, consistency, and rapid delivery.
