Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.
We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Senior Vice President Wholesale Credit Approver.
Responsibilities:
Reporting directly to Wholesale Credit Approval Team Leader 1, this role has primary responsibility of credit risk management in area(s) assigned to him/her, including credit review, recommendation and approval of Good Bank credit proposals originating from Wholesale customers (Commercial Banking).
Also acting as Approver for credit proposal within the Individual Approval authority limit or as Recommender if beyond. The individual also provides guidance on risk appetite and very often arrange the loan structure.
Maintains close relationship with Wholesale Credit Risk (WCR) and Special Credit Unit (SCU), both under Risk Directorate to, from time to time, ensure an acceptable level of credit quality. Actively participate in managing watch list (WWM) accounts through participation in periodic WWM meeting and upon annual review, the individual can provide feedback on early warning signs identification and recommend the related accounts to be included in WWM accounts
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Over 7 years of experience at a senior level in Business / Corporate / Commercial Banking, approving and/or recommending credit proposals directly to approver, undertaking risk identification on a customer and group basis, conducting sector/industry reviews and risk management coaching.
• Knowledge of Risk policies, procedures & systems.
• Knowledge of local regulatory / law of specific subjects, and risk appetite and practice of competitors are desirable.
