Superintendent Technical (Smelter) Jobs

:

• To provide expert advice and knowledge in the area of copper smelting and related processes.
• To oversee technical support to engineering and operations with respect to the material handling plant, flash furnaces and anode plant in the smelter through in depth analysis of smelter processes and machine performance to help maximize process control, equipment utilization and production.
• To embed a culture of quality, safety and sustainability across technical services through implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, optimum utilization of resources and compliance with relevant statutory, safety, health and environment norms.
• To lead small to medium improvement projects.
• To lead the technical team, driving technical excellence in performance and continuous training of the team members and others.
• To oversee technical support towards inspecting and analyzing product quality to check variance in specification and assisting in rectification towards minimizing rejections.
• To influence conditioning monitoring and predictive maintenance as well as technical training to increase productivity and plant availability.

Requirement:

• Graduate in Chemical Engineering; Mineral Processing; Pyrometallurgy; Metallurgical Engineering; Process Engineering

• Minimum 10 years in copper smelter operations with at least 5-7 years’ experience of leading teams. Flash furnace experience will be an added advantage.
• Preferably should have spent time in operations roles and design engineering roles, has had commissioning experience and has delivered significant improvement projects at other sites.
• Advanced knowledge and experience with smelter-associated plant and process (acid plants, utilities such as air and cooling water and fuel systems, effluent treatment systems, etc.)
• Domain knowledge of operations of process plants
• Analytical decision making; Teamwork and collaboration.
