STEM Curriculum Developer
Position Overview: As a STEM Curriculum Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and enhancing curriculum materials for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education programs. You will work closely with educators, subject matter experts, and instructional designers to create engaging and innovative instructional materials that align with educational standards and promote hands-on learning experiences for students. Your role will involve conducting research, writing curriculum content, and collaborating with a team to ensure the quality and effectiveness of the curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Develop comprehensive STEM curriculum materials, including lesson plans, activities, assessments, and supplementary resources, for various grade levels and educational settings.
Research and Analysis: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments and trends in STEM education, instructional methodologies, and relevant educational standards. Conduct research to gather information and data for curriculum development.
Collaboration: Collaborate with subject matter experts, educators, and instructional designers to ensure accurate and effective integration of STEM concepts into the curriculum. Work closely with the team to review and provide feedback on curriculum materials.
Instructional Design: Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and interactive learning experiences. Utilize appropriate pedagogical strategies, including project-based learning, inquiry-based learning, and hands-on activities.
Content Writing and Editing: Write clear, concise, and engaging content for curriculum materials, ensuring that the content is age-appropriate and aligned with educational standards. Edit and revise content based on feedback and instructional goals.
Assessment and Evaluation: Develop formative and summative assessment tools to measure student understanding and evaluate the effectiveness of the curriculum. Analyze assessment data and make recommendations for improvements.
Professional Development: Conduct workshops and training sessions for educators to support the implementation of the STEM curriculum. Provide guidance and support to teachers in effectively using the curriculum materials.
Quality Assurance: Ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of curriculum materials. Conduct reviews and revisions based on feedback, user testing, and best practices in STEM education.
Qualifications:
Education:
A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as Education, Science, Engineering, or a related STEM discipline. A master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
Previous experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or teaching STEM subjects is highly desirable. Experience with project-based learning and integrating technology into the curriculum is a plus.
Knowledge of STEM Education:
Strong understanding of STEM education principles, practices, and educational standards. Familiarity with current trends, research, and pedagogical approaches in STEM education.
Content Development Skills:
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to develop engaging and age-appropriate educational content. Strong attention to detail and the ability to organize and present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
Collaboration and Communication:
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborate with diverse stakeholders, and communicate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Technology Skills:
Proficiency in using educational technology tools, software, and digital resources for curriculum development and delivery. Knowledge of coding, programming languages, and software development is a plus.
Analytical Thinking:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess curriculum effectiveness, analyze data, and make data-driven decisions for curriculum improvements.
Flexibility and Adaptability:
Ability to adapt to changing priorities, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
