Senior Manager Project Controls

Job Overview:
The Senior Manager of Project Controls is tasked with the development of departmental plans, including business, production, and/or organizational priorities. The role requires multi-disciplinary expertise and the ability to understand the industry to achieve financial and operational objectives. The Senior Manager of Project Control manages multiple related teams, sets their organizational priorities, and allocates the appropriate resources. They must be able to identify and resolve a range of complex technical, operational, and organizational problems. The Senior Manager Project Controls directly impacts business results by supporting and function-specific projects, products, services, and/or technologies, and developing policies and plans.
Responsibilities
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Roll out of project risk & opportunity management program to project team ensuring that roles, responsibilities, requirements, deliverables, and expectations are understood and agreed
• Tender Risk Management
• Mentor Risk & Opportunity staff
• Provide management with a strategic view of key risks impacting cost and schedule
• Work with IT/Engineering to align on the platform(s) for modernization of the risk program and analysis
• Administration of the risk tools
• Provide early engagement and consistent support throughout the project life cycle, as early as Pre-FEED (end to end)
• Promote the active and consistent management of risk across proposals, projects, and areas with clearly defined processes, a robust toolkit, and training of personnel
• Drive Risk & Opportunity strategic thinking and action across the organization
• Promote the active management and harvesting of opportunities across projects and areas with clearly defined processes, a robust toolkit, and training of personnel
• Support the allocation of adequate levels of competent Risk & Opportunity personnel across the business
• Support the preparation of the annual Risk & Opportunity program and activity plans
• Qualitative Reviews – Detailed risk assessment identifying common risks as well as unique risks to the tender being considered
• Ensure Risk & Opportunity strategies are communicated effectively and understood globally across the organization
• Promote Risk & Opportunity Strategy, plans, and programs externally to the client base and industry sector
• Measure and continuously improve the effectiveness of the Risk & Opportunity function, program, and processes
• Monitor for effectiveness and assist in the implementation of the Business Management System
• Maintain key competencies associated with the Risk & Opportunity function
• Other duties related to Risk & Opportunity function, as directed by the Senior Director
• Support monthly CSRA (cost & schedule risk analysis)
• Execution Risk Management
• Provide any follow-up support as requested by the tender team
• Quantitative Reviews – Perform quantitative (cost & schedule) risk analysis by PROM procedure to ensure that targets are achievable and proper contingency is allocated
• Deliver completed tender risk and opportunity analysis to project managers on successful tenders
• Facilitate the risk management process for projects in execution supporting the mitigation of risks identified in the tender stage and continuous identification of risks along the project execution path
• Facilitate tender risk management reviews on an as-required basis (per procedure)
• Support PMSR (Project Monthly Status Report) requirements
• Ensure the risk management program is integrated into the operations, promote adherence with the processes, and avoid process deviation
• Maintain a schedule of monthly engagements with the project team and management to ensure timely and accurate updating of the risk register and associated mitigation activities
• Execute service agreement with the project manager to assure full alignment on how risk management will be applied to the project and any project-specific deliverables

Qualifications
Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Communication and presentation skills, both written and spoken
• Ability to work as a team member as well as act as a team leader
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Construction, and/or Project Management preferred
• Wide experience with technical activities, including on and offshore operations
• Computer literate in Microsoft programs: Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, Project
• Over 10 years of Energy Industry experience working on onshore and offshore projects
• Knowledge of Risk & Opportunity management processes on EPCI projects
• Knowledge of structuring risk program/project teams
