Senior Customs Analyst Jobs

Job Purpose and Impact

The Senior Customs Analyst will support regional and global customs in areas such as risk assessment, value preservation review and regional and global customs compliance improvement projects. We seek a professional who will work closely with internal business units to address risk and leverage customs opportunities, develop and implement control and compliance framework, contribute to government inquiries and provide operational mentorship and training.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform data management, analysis and reporting to ensure compliance and provide support in tax and duty disputes.
• Manage client interaction and business partnership, providing strategic direction on global trade compliance activities, collaborating cross-functionally, internally and externally to implement cross-border solutions globally.
• Manage and front customs audits and interactions with Customs authorities on behalf of Cargill businesses
• Other duties as assigned.
• Support global trade operations compliance and Cargill subsidiaries, joint ventures, business unit staff and other customs departments by advising on low-to-moderately complex customs transactions and issues.
• Conduct complex customs-related research and analysis, using substantial understanding of customs practices and procedures with minimal input from senior team members.
• You will work under minimal supervision and independently handle complex issues while referring only the most complex issues to higher-level staff.
• Develop technical customs solutions to minimize Cargill's customs liabilities and risks.

Qualifications

• Minimum six years of directly related work experience.
• May require travel up to 50% of time – Must be comfortable with local travel.
• Must be proficient with Indonesian Customs Regulations, especially for regulations around operation of bonded zones and duty drawback facilities
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of legal framework related to customs valuation, free trade agreement origin, customs law and ASEAN FTAs

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Experience working on customs compliance matters, preferably with a Big 4 accounting firm, government, major law firm or multinational company.
• Hands-on experience of SAP global trade services.
• Degree or certification in customs, law or foreign trade, such as Customs Expert Certification and Tax court License
