Middle Office Team


The Middle Office team engages in a wide range of day-to-day operational and administrative activities, which center on productivity gains in support of Fitch’s rating process, and includes, but is not limited to:


  • Improvements in the aging of ratings – annual review cycles
  • Enabling faster availability of financial statements
  • Enabling Analysts to cover more credits, to allocate more time to analysis, rating action commentaries (RACs) and research
  • Streamlining a diverse range of non-analytical tasks for Analysts
  • Improving the quality and speed of processing financial statement adjustments


Role & Responsibilities


Fitch Ratings’ Global Core Operations team is seeking Operations Associates to join the group in Asia Pacific (APAC) region. This team is a core part of Fitch Group’s global growth strategy in APAC region. The position involves providing a range of non-analytical support services required for the overall credit analysis performed by Fitch.


The Operations Associates will assist with many of the analytical teams’ fundamental tasks related to the rating process. These tasks include support on internal applications; data and ratings input and verification; and electronic filing of documents. The position involves working collaboratively with members of analytical teams, Operations, IT and others to ensure that the correct processes are followed; meeting the needs of the users and supporting compliance with the Company’s overall business and regulatory requirements.


Key Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To)


  • Assist with internal support applications, data and ratings input and verification, and electronic filing of documents.
  • Assist with day to day management/ support of the ratings workflow operating processes.
  • Work collaboratively with various Ratings teams.
  • Assist senior Operations members with special projects, as needed, on behalf of the Chief Operating Officer or other senior managers of Fitch Ratings.
  • Perform other non-analytical and administrative tasks as directed by the Operations team.
  • Participate in various projects including training new members of the team on the use of new tools/applications.
  • Provide daily and ad-hoc support to rating Analysts across the region to assist with the internal credit rating committees’ process.
  • Identify and recommend enhancements to the current procedures, applications, management report and training, to provide the highest quality support to the global analytical community.
  • Assist with ratings workflow operating processes to ensure universal compliance.
  • Promote an overall understanding of compliance requirements; and related policies and procedures.


Skills And Requirements


We are open to candidates who are newly qualified graduates, early in their career or have 3+ years’ experience in an administrative or operational position. The successful candidate must:


  • Be proficient in Excel and Word
  • Have excellent organisational skills, time management skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Be customer focused with the commitment to providing exceptional client service and have excellent attention to detail.
  • Have the desire to learn about the ratings and Fitch’s Core Operations processes.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work within a cohesive team environment.
  • Be highly motivated, flexible, collaborative, and adaptable to change.
  • Be fluent in Mandarin and English, both written and verbal
  • The ability to communicate with senior managers, analytical staff, and technical support – both verbally and in written correspondence


This role will require shift work, shifts will be rotated amongst team members. The shifts are:


  • 7am - 4pm
  • 8am - 5pm
  • 9am - 6pm
  • 10am - 7pm
