Educational Background

Educated to degree level in a STEM, financial, business or similar related subject, supported by an appropriate professional qualification, such as CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply) or equivalent.

Procurement Related Experiences

• Experience of procurement category management, including ‘upstream’ market understanding, procurement strategy, tendering, contract award and ‘downstream’ contract implementation and management.

• Excellent relevant experience of managing contracts and delivering improved supplier performance in the key expenditure categories

• Experience of carrying out major procurement exercises from sourcing all the way to contracting.

• Extensive working knowledge of procurement policy, SOP, and its system supports

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal, having the confidence, gravitas and acumen to clearly articulate commercial thinking in a compelling way, persuading and influencing so to gain stakeholder trust & commitment

• Stature and expertise to become and act as a trusted commercial advisor

• Nurturing of key relationships with senior stakeholders and supply partners.

• Able to manage multiple projects and apply problem solving skills (project management)
