Government Relations Specialist Jobs

Key duties

• Responsible for ensuring project’s compliance with government policy
• Obtain various approvals from local government and MOEF, such as for work plans, environmental license, and AMDAL.
• Facilitate necessary communication and discussions with government counterparts
• Responsible in the licensing process, from obtaining local government recommendations and letters to obtaining permits from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MOEF)
• Identifying risks and opportunities with regards to policy development vis a vis company’s carbon project
• Support concession work plans in collaboration with the internal team and consultant and adhere with project and government templates
• Keeping the company up to date with existing and new regulations issued by the government
• Devise strategic contingency plan based on aforementioned risks and opportunities
• Maintain good relationships with government counterparts
• Work with Field Manager in coordination with local government officials

Qualifications, skills and experience:

• In-depth knowledge and know-how on various compliance documents with Ministry of Environment and Forestry (license, general work plan, AMDAL, etc.)
• Bachelor’s degree in Forestry, Social Science, or other relevant degree
• Excellent communication skill, both in verbal and writing. Ability to communicate in English would be an advantage
• Minimum 8 years experience working with close relationship with Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
• Has a strong and extensive network in Ministry of Environment and Forestry
