Job Description

About Our Client
Our client is a subsidiary of renowned foreign coal mining company (PT PMA) lead by team with proven track record in successful metallurgical coal projects.

  • Monitor and analyze government policies, regulations, and legislative developments that could impact the company's operations, providing insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with key government stakeholders at various levels, ensuring effective communication and collaboration to advance the company's interests.
  • Represent the company in meetings, conferences, and industry events, advocating for the company's positions and interests, while promoting responsible mining practices and community contributions.
  • Collaborate with internal departments, to provide strategic advice on government relations matters to the leadership team, ensuring compliance with regulations, and fostering alignment across the organization.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive government engagement strategy aligned with the company's goals, including engagement with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and local government bodies in Central Kalimantan.
The Successful Applicant
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with the capacity to analyze complex issues and develop effective government relations strategies.
  • Strong network of contacts and established relationships with key government stakeholders in Indonesia, particularly within the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, and local government bodies.
  • Demonstrated commitment to responsible and sustainable business practices.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to the company's mining site in Central Kalimantan as well as attend meetings and events in other locations as required.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indonesian political, regulatory, and legislative processes, with a keen understanding of the energy and mining sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully advocating for corporate interests and influencing government decision-making.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience in government relations, lobbying, or advocacy, preferably within the coal mining sector.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build consensus and foster collaborative relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree in Law
