Job Description
Typical Duties by Technical Field Advisor - QMB
  • Responsible for controlling and monitoring the Consignment Stock to Weir procedures.
  • Daily/weekly/monthly and annual service and maintenance work and inspection.
  • Main Drive Motor
  • Attend factory training provided by Weir when Weir sees this as required due to updates in equipment or changes in operating conditions.
  • Auxiliaries
  • Perform training of Customer’s maintenance staff to ensure reliable operation of the GEHO pumps during any absence of the TFA, during weekends and after-hours, or whilst the TFA is on leave or attending any training.
  • Prepare a weekly list of Consignment Stock used (withdrawal notes), obtain the formal authorized acceptance of the Customer and submit to Weir for further processing.
  • Assist the Customer’s operators with pump operation, performance characteristics e.g. priming procedures, basic troubleshooting and addressing alarms and signals.

  • Draw parts from the Consignment Stock, on an as need basis and solely for use with the pump equipment.
  • Available for call-out twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week in response to pump performance or maintenance issues, unless the TFA is on leave or attending training.
  • Cooperate closely with Weir’s maintenance crew and management and.
  • If the TFA (or the TFA’s) cannot judge a problem, one of them will immediately contact Weir.

  • Monitor the Consignment Stock levels and initiate replenishment orders and provide recommendations to the Customer and Weir with justification for the adjustment of the minimum Consignment Stock based on actual consumption rate and anticipated parts needs.
  • Liaise with the Weir Asia Pacific aftermarket team, when necessary.
  • Supervise and perform when necessary daily mechanical and electrical maintenance on the GEHO Equipment on site including troubleshooting, diagnosing, and determining the root cause of faults during operation of:
  • The Electrical Circuits
  • In relation to Consignment Stock, provide assistance in parts ordering, stock count, logging of use etc.
