Job Description
Perform UG Mine GBC, BG and/or KL Hydrology/Hydrogeology activities to ensure all the data and report requirements are collected, and recommendation issued in a timely and high-quality manner to support UG Mine production, manage and mitigate risks within the UG Mine.


The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:


1. Perform safety tasks such as fatal risk management, safety inspection, safety talk, and so on.


2. Perform hydrogeology tasks such as monitoring, inspection, investigation, testing, sampling, and mapping in GBC, BG and KL mines, and ensure that all data is collected on a regular basis.


3. Perform quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) regarding hydrogeology data to ensure all data is up to date and correct.


4. Perform systematic wet muck mapping (including flow measurements of draw points) to ensure effective, efficient, and safe mining practices in wet muck production area.


5. Perform analysis from wet muck mapping, draw point status, and water inflow data collection.


6. Provide reports and recommendations based on the data collected and analyzed (e.g., through POI, GOI Reporting).


7. Follow-up on issues related to hydrogeology in GBC, BG, and KL from stakeholders/clients.


8. Act as project owner for dewatering drilling campaign in the UG Mine.


9. Conduct health checks on all hydrogeology monitoring equipment to ensure that they are calibrated and ready for use at all times.


10. Improve the business process for data collection and information distribution.


11. Hold sharing sessions related with hydrogeology as part of personal and team development


12. Develop a network and communication strategy with stakeholders/clients to achieve department goals (risks mitigation).


13. Perform Pratama development through training, courses and on-the-job training to increase Pratama competency.


14. Monitor and review subordinate performance and assist them during their activities to minimize possibilities of rework and ensure compliance with time and quality standards required by the client and the company.


The key challenges in this position include:


  • Requirement for extra attention and special technical skill considering high-risk area and complicated hydrogeology condition.
  • Large UG Mine footprint that needs to be monitored/inspected.
  • Multi stakeholders that need to be managed.
  • Need for a broad knowledge of Hydrology and Hydrogeology in order to meet the high demand of Underground Mine areas and operational requirements.


The background, education, and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:


Minimum Education And Experience


  • S1 Degree in Geology or Mine Engineering or other geoscience field with at least 2 years' experience in hydrology and hydrogeology field, especially at mining industry.
  • Preferably has a master's degree (S2) related with Hydrogeology/Hydrology.
  • Preferably has experience in UG Mine.


Core Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Characters)


  • HYDROLOGY DEPARTMENT
  • Self-motivated, well adapted and team oriented.
  • Computer literacy such as VULCAN, MINESIGHT, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.
  • Analytical Thinking.
  • Fluent English both verbal and written.
  • Experience in hydrology/hydrogeology monitoring (i.e., Piezometer Installation)
  • Project Management.
  • Database literacy such as SQL, PowerBI is an advantage.
