Chemical Engineering Lab Assistant

As a Chemical Engineering Lab Assistant in our biodiesel production company, you will play a crucial role in supporting the chemical engineering team in various laboratory-based tasks. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in the production, testing, and analysis of biodiesel and related products. You will work closely with the chemical engineers to ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory and contribute to the continuous improvement of our biodiesel production processes.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the preparation and execution of chemical reactions for biodiesel production.
Conduct routine laboratory tests to monitor and analyze the quality of biodiesel, including viscosity, density, flash point, and chemical composition.
Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring proper calibration and adherence to safety protocols.
Participate in research and development projects to improve the efficiency and sustainability of biodiesel production processes.
Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that arise during production, ensuring product quality and process optimization.
Collaborate with the chemical engineering team to document experimental procedures, results, and findings accurately.
Support the team in sourcing and evaluating raw materials for biodiesel production, considering cost, availability, and environmental impact.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
Hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, preferably with exposure to chemical reactions and analysis.
Knowledge of biodiesel production processes and relevant ASTM standards is a plus.
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and instruments used in chemical analysis.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and analyzing data.
Excellent communication skills to work effectively within a team environment.
