Lab Supervisor Jobs

• Provide Quality Control Measures for test procedures; review and document results;
• Assign and prioritizes work to lab technician, ensuring adequate coverage at all times, prioritizes work when equipment fails and short staffing occurs.
• Manage laboratory purchase of inventory, storage and supplies usage.
• Analyse and suggest selected purchase equipment and monitor maintenance and service agreement.
• Responsible for maintaining laboratory records, reports and files.
• Perform related duties as required
• Perform analytic, pre- and post-analytic functions to attain Asa Ren Lab goals and ensure stable conformance by lab members.
• Evaluate competency and performance of the subordinates, recommend disciplinary actions promotions.
• Attain and manage apt and needed accreditation; process administrative requirements for (continuing) laboratory accreditation by all accrediting/licensing agencies, government and related organizations.
• Review and evaluate laboratory procedures, methodologies, and policies; develop effective and well-written standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Teaches new lab members, trainees, internship students, and fellows on various laboratory techniques.
• Resolves day-to-day operational problems related to systems, personnel and equipment performance.
• Provide lab technicians with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
• Supervise the work and daily operations of the lab technicians to ensure adherence to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.
• Perform special projects as needed or assigned, such as mini experiments or workshops.
• Implement corrective action(s) when tolerance limits are exceeded; ensure specimen integrity from point of receipt and accessioning through filing/archival; ensure compliance with standards and regulations of accrediting and government agencies.

Requirements :

• Strong attention to detail
• Analytical and numerical skills : Ability to perform mathematical calculations in different units of measurement, ability to use concepts such as percentages, and ratios
• Have qualified knowledge and skill in the field of molecular biology, especially human DNA extraction, PCR, and genotyping assay
• Ability to work independently as well as in teams
• Excellent communication skills, neutral, trustworthy
• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Biochemistry, or in science related fields with molecular biology knowledge and skill, Master degree's preferred
• In depth knowledge of QHSE system
