Job Description
AYANA Hospitality is a leading company in the hospitality industry in Indonesia. We are currently seeking an Assistant Pastry Chef for our AYANA Midplaza Jakarta property. The ideal candidate will have experience in pastry and bakery production, and possess a passion for dessert making. As an Assistant Pastry Chef, you will work with the Executive Pastry Chef and the rest of the culinary team to ensure high-quality desserts are produced to meet the standards of our guests and clients.


Responsibilities


  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that pastry products are presented and delivered according to the needs of the guests or clients.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards to ensure food safety in the pastry kitchen.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the pastry kitchen, including inventory management and quality control.
  • Develop new and innovative pastry recipes and designs, taking into consideration seasonal ingredients and customer feedback.
  • Train and guide junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring they follow standard operating procedures and health and safety requirements.
  • Participate in menu planning and presentation for AYANA Midplaza Jakarta's food and beverage outlets and events.
  • Assist the Executive Pastry Chef in the preparation and production of cakes, pastries, bread, and other bakery items for AYANA Midplaza Jakarta's outlets and events.


Requirements


  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a pastry or bakery production environment.
  • A passion for pastry and a creative flair for design.
  • Formal training in pastry and bakery production.
  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines, without compromising on quality.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
