About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled AI/ML Data Scientist to join our team and assist in capturing data from Companies House filings. This role involves developing software to extract and analyze data from specific types of filings, as well as presenting the extracted data in a suitable format for further processing. By leveraging your expertise in data science and software engineering, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of a cutting-edge product. This role will provide valuable experience for those aspiring to pursue a career in the highly sought-after field of Data Science within the Information Technology (IT) industry.

Responsibilities

We need to supplement manually captured data by capturing data from Companies House filings. This requires:

• Assist in the continuous improvement of the data capture pipeline, optimizing efficiency and performance.
• Implement algorithms and techniques to extract relevant data from the content of these filings.
• Develop software tools to automatically identify and retrieve the latest filings of the target companies, focusing on specific types of filings.
• Transform the extracted data into a suitable format that can be easily interpreted and processed by other software systems.
• Conduct thorough testing and quality assurance to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data extraction and processing algorithms.
• Contribute to the documentation of processes, methodologies, and findings for future reference and knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in AI/ML and data science techniques, incorporating them into the data capture process as appropriate.
• Create a comprehensive list of companies to track for data capture purposes.
• Collaborate with the team to define and develop the desired outputs, which will be further refined during the project.

Qualifications and Skills

• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Familiarity with software engineering best practices, version control systems, and collaborative development environments.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle complex data-related challenges.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in working with large datasets and databases.
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or Java.
• Experience in AI/ML techniques, including natural language processing (NLP), data extraction, and text analysis.
