System Operations Engineer Jobs

In this role you will

• Make monitoring and alerting alert on symptoms and not on outages.
• Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack.
• Use your on-call shift to prevent incidents from ever happening.
• Be on a Opsgenie on-call rotation to respond to infrastructure incidents.
• Improve processes to make them as boring as possible.
• Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actions–and then into automation.
• Plan the growth of Biznet Gio infrastructure.

• Think about systems - edge cases, failure modes, behaviors, specific implementations.
• Have experience with vSphere or OpenStack environment.
• Have an urge for delivering quickly and iterating fast.
• Have love for monitoring and monitoring-driven operations.
• Have an urge to document all the things so you don't need to learn the same thing twice.
• Know your way around Linux and the shell.
• Know what is the use of config management systems like Puppet, Chef, or Salt.
• Have an urge to collaborate and communicate asynchronously (think chats, emails, tickets).
• Have an enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude. When you see something broken, you can't help but fix it.

• Storage System, such as Ceph, Nimble, 3PAR, and vStorage
• Identity Management, such as Active Directory, OpenLDAP, and FreeIPA
• OpenStack
• Backup, Replication, Failover, and Disaster Recovery, with tools like Acronis, Veeam, Zerto, and vCAV
• VMware Infrastructure (vSphere, vCenter, vCloud, NSX-T, vSAN)
• DNS, with tools like Knot, BIND, and PowerDNS
• Kubernetes / Microservices
• Logging Stack such as Graylog, Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Fluentd
• Monitoring Stack such as Zabbix, Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, and integration with Opsgenie
• Linux/Windows Server
