We currently have an opportunity for a Manager, Store Communications based out of our office in Montréal, Québec.

Develop store communication strategy

• Stay informed and aware of all trends and innovation in term of communication
• Act as an expert with business functions to maximize and be more efficient with communication
• Work with Director to build and execute the communication strategy, for stores across the organization, that aligns with business needs and organizational strategy
• Determine best channels based on communications and business needs
• Develop, manage and influence the additional communication capabilities and innovative channels

Manage the execution across the country

• Develop processes to effectively manage issues to ensure positive outcomes and maximize customer experience
• Follow and mesure efficiency of communication strategies and execution and recommended continuous improvement
• Oversee the strategic planning for a broad range of retail facing communications (Ex. – Merchandising initiatives, development opportunities, audits / metrics, etc.)
• Maintain working knowledge of Operations / Retail priorities to ensure strategy aligns
• Responsible of communications load send to store (decision right on how and when business will communicate based on feedback)
• Lead third party relationship to develop any new communication channels
• Develop tools with and templates with the team for consistent approach
• Work with IT & other lines of business on technology solutions required to improve effectives and efficiency

People Leadership

• Coach, develop and empower team members to support the effective and timely execution of their daily roles and responsibilities *Manage direct reports including: selection, orientation, training & development, performance management, succession planning and compensation * Create opportunities for skill development and career progression to develop talent

Job Requirements

• 3 years of Operations and/or Retail experience preferred
• 5-8 years experience in Communication
• Degree in Communication
• English language (written and verbal, advanced level. The individual will be required to work with their peers in other provinces in the design, development and implementation of tools and processes across Canada, and also provide support to Sobeys employees across Canada. 75% of the time the teammate will have to use a language other than French.
• Excellent command French (oral and written)
• Understanding of complex statistical models and methodologies
• Experience executing projects that are complex change initiatives affecting one or more elements of people, process and technology simultaneously
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• 3 years of people management experience preferred
