Job Scope

As the Lead Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical and managerial guidance to the Operations Support Team, ensuring the efficient and safe operation of mechanical equipment at various onshore assets. You will lead a team of mechanical engineers specializing in Static and Rotating Equipment, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure timely and within budget execution of projects related to the mechanical discipline.
• Interface with the engineering department to consider maintainability when specifying, procuring, and installing new or replacement equipment.
• Take a lead role in the Operations Support Team, providing technical expertise and guidance to mechanical engineers(Static and Rotating Equipment) for achieving business goals.
• Ensure competence and performance of Responsible Persons for Safety Critical Elements, maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance.
• Provide timely Operations Support to resolve mechanical discipline-related operational issues.
• Offer expert insight into all business processes, driving continuous improvement.
• Identify, propose, and promote opportunities and initiatives to reduce annual OPEX and CAPEX budget spending within the mechanical discipline.
• Adhere to the Management of Change Standard to ensure changes are managed effectively with minimal impact on operations.
• Conduct root cause analysis where required to identify and address underlying issues effectively.
• Lead and Manage Mechanical Discipline Team: Ensure the technical work of the mechanical team is thoroughly checked and prioritize their workload based on operational requirements.
• Fulfil the roles and responsibilities of the Mechanical Responsible Person (RP) for safety-critical equipment, both Rotating and Static Equipment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in the operation and design of various types of Rotating Equipment packages.
• Offshore/onshore experience in the design and construction of hydrocarbon processing/utilities plants and application of associated codes and standards.
• Knowledge of operating and maintaining equipment in remote environments.
• 15 or more years of operating company experience in the oil and gas industry, with a specific focus on rotating machinery and experience in leading a team.
