Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team at a Chinese restaurant. Responsibilities

  1. Develop and design a diverse and innovative Chinese menu, incorporating traditional and modern culinary techniques.
  2. Create and standardize recipes, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and portion sizes.
  3. Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure exceptional quality and adherence to food safety standards.
  4. Lead and inspire the kitchen team, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to foster growth and maintain a cohesive work environment.
  5. Manage inventory and control food costs by implementing effective procurement and storage practices.
  6. Collaborate with the restaurant management team to plan and execute special events, catering, and menu promotions.
  7. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to sanitation and hygiene regulations.
  8. Stay updated with current culinary trends, techniques, and ingredients to continuously enhance the menu offerings and culinary experience.
  9. Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source high-quality ingredients and negotiate favorable pricing.
  10. Monitor and optimize kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow, proper equipment maintenance, and effective utilization of resources.


Qualifications

  1. Proven 1-2 years experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a Chinese restaurant or similar culinary setting.
  2. In-depth knowledge of Chinese cuisine, including regional variations and cooking techniques.
  3. Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse kitchen team.
  4. Creative flair and ability to create innovative and visually appealing dishes.
  5. Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  6. Solid understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  7. Ability to manage inventory, control food costs, and work within budgetary constraints.
  8. Culinary degree or relevant certification is preferred, but extensive experience may be considered.
  9. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, restaurant management, and suppliers.
  10. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the restaurant industry.
