Chef - Kaum Jobs

We are looking to elevate Kaum’s culinary through research and creativity, taking a step further on getting Indonesia’s most authentic cuisine to the spotlight.

Day to day:

Researching, sourcing, experimenting, planning and presenting. Training the team and educating the cross-teams. Supporting Operations on costing, operation and staff training.

Requirements:

• Love for research and for Indonesia.
• Strong leadership, tactical skills and result oriented
• Strong interest in Indonesian culture and cuisine
• Leading experience in R + D, Indonesian or Asian cuisines, thinking of a 100+ seater, from traditional to contemporary techniques.
• Experience working at free-standing restaurants
• Strong in both modern/contemporary and authentic Indonesian cuisine
• Ability to inspire,empower, lead a team with a sustainability mindset.
• Strong English both spoken and written
• Energetic, hands-on, motivated
• Experience in similar position
• Extensive knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Creative, and really passionate about food
• Good communication skills

Desirable:

• A network for sourcing within Indonesia and the region.
• An understanding of tropical ingredients and techniques beyond Indonesia.

Conditions:

• 4 + years active. Bahasa Indonesia and English.
• Open to Indonesian and foreign chefs, also based abroad.
