Job Description

Position Summary

The Green Economy Campaigner (Indonesia), reporting to the Indonesia Green Economy Project Leader and Indonesia Country Director, is responsible for articulating the vision and position of Greenpeace in promotingwell-being economy and greener growth, within the post-extractivism and post-linear economy framework. Using his/her knowledge and experience of economics he/she will collaborate with project/engagement colleagues (specially Green Economy Communication Specialist) and freelance contributors to build a creative campaign for our target audiences.

This position plays a crucial role in advancing Greenpeace vision on well-being as an alternative to the mainstream growth-oriented economic development discourses and policy making. Far too long Indonesia has been trapped in a pro-growth-extractivist model that has caused environmental disasters, biodiversity losses and inequalities, therefore capabilities to influence mainstream economics debates and policy making are essentials to this role.

Economics conversation generally takes place in limited and high level forums mainly with key policymakers, economists, researchers, academics, and policy analysts. The Green Economy Specialist will also work on these forums to bring Greenpeace vision on well-being economy into discussions about our alternative futures.
