Your Role and Responsibilities


The Event Marketing Manager is responsible for developing event strategy for Indonesia by providing data-driven event recommendations, designing experiences that enhance IBM brand, curating event content that resonates with the audience and driving the implementation of events and measurements tailored to maximise business impact by creating demand for IBM solutions.


The Event Marketing Manager will manage the IBM global event process to ensure events are compliant and audit-ready following the process.


Responsibilities Include


  • Internal communication (monthly marketing newsletter, creation and management of W3 page)
  • Attendee response uploads
  • Contracts and execution documents with IBM vendors
  • Event Marketing Tool documentation
  • Legal and finance controls include, but are not limited to:
  • GDPR
  • Deep knowledge of all event tools and processes including legal and financial controls/requirements
  • Procurement and other financial documentation
  • Execution of virtual and face-to-face events across 3rd party, proprietary and industry events and managing IBM-approved agencies
  • Partnership with Indonesia marketing team to ensure event performance and ROI are proactively monitored
  • Pre and Post event email creation and deployment in Marketing (content to be provided by Field Marketing)
  • Logo Licences
  • Event Debriefs
  • Corporate compliance requirement
  • Ensuring all artefacts for compliance are documented and archived according to IBM Global Event Process
The Event Manager is accountable for driving the outcomes of Global Event Process compliance and event documentation accuracy while working with the country marketing leaders and field marketing managers to maximize event efficiency and outcomes.


In addition to working closely with the Indonesia marketing team, this role will also work closely with the Asia Pacific Event Marketing team.


Required Technical and Professional Expertise


  • Build and maintain good relationships successfully, resolve conflicts, and negotiate confidently and fairly with a wide range of people including C-level executives, vendors, sponsors, colleagues, customers, suppliers, supervisors, sellers, partners, event staff and event attendees
  • Have a passion for designing and executing event experiences and staying up to date with the latest events industry best practices
  • A proven ability to work with technical information and deliver with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong project management skills with a commitment to be highly organized and determined to meet deadlines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of event execution experience including managing agencies and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Able to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment and execute effectively against multiple projects and deadlines and demonstrate an ability to take initiative, anticipate needs and exercise independent and sound judgment.
