About The Engineering Manager (Dairy) Role

This is a great opportunity for the Engineering Manager (Dairy) to redevelop group systems and processes. Your main responsibility is to oversee and managing the engineering department. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians to ensure the smooth operation, maintenance, and improvement of the dairy manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in dairy manufacturing engineering
• Develop project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure projects are delivered within budget and on schedule
• Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe work environment
• Collaborate with external contractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards
• Lead and supervise a team of engineers and technicians, providing guidance, mentorship, and support
• Analyse data, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions to optimise processes and workflows
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning
• Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of all dairy manufacturing equipment and machinery
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient production processes, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions
• Conduct regular safety inspections and audits, addressing any potential hazards or risks promptly
• Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering projects related to facility expansion, process optimisation, and equipment upgrades
• Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Set performance objectives, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide feedback to team members

The successful Engineering Manager (Dairy) will have a strong technical knowledge, project management skills, and the ability to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Ability to analyse complex data, identify trends, and propose data-driven solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
• Strong technical knowledge of dairy manufacturing processes, equipment, and maintenance practices
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferably in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering)
• Proven experience as an Engineering Manager or similar leadership role in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the dairy industry
• Familiarity with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations
• Excellent project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and a results-driven culture
• Familiar with Aseptic Line Management
