Rize is an Agri-Tech startup formed through a joint venture between Temasek, Wavemaker Impact, Breakthrough Energy Ventures, GenZero to decarbonize rice cultivation in Asia.It is building a platform to identify and implement the most effective strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in rice cultivation, and the right economic incentives across the value chain to drive the adoption of sustainable cultivation techniques. Rize’s initial target markets are Indonesia and Vietnam, to be followed by India with plans to expand more broadly within the region.

Responsibilities

We are looking for Agronomist to help us to scale up Rize in Indonesia. If you have similar passion and match with the requirements then we encourage you to apply to explore this opportunity. Here’s what you will do on a day-to-day basis:

• Coordinate with leaders to get insight and strategy implementation in acquisition and businesses.
• Manage multiple stakeholders on-field to implement, assess, and monitor rice farming practice & operation chains in the designated project location.
• Give input to Rize’s team in regard of the field condition (farmers' behavior, farm cultivation, stakeholders, etc.) and coordinate to implement strategy of the venture.
• Own the farmer onboarding and engagement initiatives throughout the planting life cycle from preparation to harvesting.

Qualifications

• Able to technically manage plots, food plantations, demand generations, and build trust and forge long-term relationships with farmers and other stakeholders.
• Articulate and eloquent both in written and verbal communication.
• Intellectually curious and have a keen interest in Crop Farming, Sustainable Agriculture, and AgTech.
• Have strong project management and stakeholder management skills and experiences.
• Agriculture / crop farming related major graduate with at least 1 year of experience as an Agronomist / Field Coordinator / AgTech Professional / related role.
• Have a strong interest and skillset in sales and commercial area would be an additional point.
• Possess a balance between analytical and critical thinking and equipped with superb interpersonal skills.
• Preferably based or willing to be relocated in designated area.
• Open-minded and continuously strive for self-development.
