Job Description

Job Purpose

The Market Executive is responsible for building and driving revenue growth through offering management support to the Purchasing team including the procurement and co-ordination of special offers to the dnata travel group, ensuring inventory and availability is always market leading and content is always up to date and accurate. Specific responsibilities include:


Accountabilities

  • Work with Market Managers / Executive and loaders to ensure all products are loaded in a proper and timely manner in accordance with best practice and business needs, ensuring systems are regularly checked to maintain rate integrity and continuity of supply and monitor loading progress from Tracker bearing in mind commercial needs
  • Handle customer service and accounts issues relating to products ensuring requests are confirmed and losses minimised where possible
  • Manage payment queries including day of payment settings by room type, creating read only extranet accounts and liaising with VCC team on failed payments when contacted by hotels
  • Work with Market Managers to ensure that all contracts are issued and received in a timely manner and appropriate records are kept, including appropriate Health & Safety
  • Run and check reports to maintain availability of stock and identify regular “Stop sales’ offenders to the relevant Market Managers
  • Assist Health and Safety team with Health & Safety assessment follow ups to ensure they are completed and returned within the SLA deadline
  • Conduct & supportcompetitor analysis and awareness providing accurate information to Market Managers/ Executive; Produce MI stats for Market Managers as required
  • Building hotel relationships with Market Managers ensuring inventories are always up to date
  • Conduct exclusive tactical negotiations with suppliers on an on-going basis in conjunction with market manager
  • Ensure errata are issued as appropriate for all changes and building work etc; ensuring appropriate action is taken to advise clients, both current and potential, in accordance with legislation
  • Maintain records of brochure contribution & overrides ensuring agreements are issued and returned
  • With request from Market Manager, co-ordinate mass email campaigns such as promotional emails for marketing. Review disabled promotions and contact hotels to request extension
  • Support Market Managers / Executives in procuring the best rate & allocation practice in all areas of responsibility ensuring we receive the most competitive deals in the marketplace
  • Attend trade function as required by the Market Managers in accordance with the business needs
  • Manage deactivated properties, manage responses and liaise with Market Manager on whether they need to be disabled. Handle the disabling process
  • Work with Purchasing Manager / Executives and brands to ensure all queries of whatever type are handled and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring content (room type, occupancy, descriptions, board types etc.) is up to date and accurate
  • Deputise for Product Managers on weekly calls as required
  • Assist with general product management including the monitoring and reporting of sales on a weekly basis
  • Maintain an accurate record of special offers for Purchasing Managers and ensure distribution via SalesForce
  • Assist Market Managers / Executives with marketing requests and tourist board relationships. Work in partnership with the in-house brands to secure marketing funds & tactical offers from Suppliers for promotional activities for their respective brands
  • Assist Market Manager/hotel when property is live but not showing online - Coordinate with Servicedesk if escalation required and keep both parties informed


Qualifications / skills / experience / knowledge

  • Minimum 2 years commercial experience working for an OTA/bedbankor tour operator
  • Understanding of Travel Technologies and the industry as a whole
  • Highly proficiency levels in working with Microsoft office products
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and a real commitment to continuous improvement
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work and thrive in a multi-tasked, fast paced environment
  • Commercial, numerate with a high level of analytical skills
  • Able to work on own initiative and contribute positively to the team environment
  • Self-motivated, with ability to work autonomously, organising time and prioritising workload

  • Confident and competent in establishing relationships with key suppliers
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills, other languages would be an advantage based on region assigned
