Interior Designer/Design Associate

About the role

The Design Associates are responsible for test-fitting, drawing and coordination on specific projects. It requires advanced design sensibility along with technical drafting skills. The role will contribute to general design work across projects as well as focused test-fitting and diligence work in some cases.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with consultant coordination process and review milestone deliverables
• Research local codes and standards and ensure compliance in early design phases
• Perform QA/QC of internal drawing packages
• Develop interior design schemes
• Coordinate test-fits and schematic plans with MEP/FP and Structural engineering strategies
• Handle technical detail development for interior and exterior components
• Draw testfits and schematic designs for projects

Requirements:

• Strong space-planning ability
• Strong ability to coordinate architectural and engineering systems cohesively
• Ability to multitask and develop plans for multiple projects with short timelines
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or related fields
• Excellent architectural representation, drafting, and detail development skills
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Suites
• 2-3 years of relevant experience as a designer with a strong background in interiors, hospitality, F&B, and/or renovation/adaptive re-use
• Detail-oriented with the ability to focus on tasks as needed, execute duties accurately, and raise attention to potential issues while effectively communicating relevant information to all parties
• Experience with all project phases
