Job Description

Nihi Resort, an award-winning small boutique luxury resort located on the beautiful island of Sumba in Indonesia, is seeking an experienced Hotel Manager to oversee the resort's day-to-day operations. The Hotel Manager will work closely with the General Manager and the Vice President of Group Operations to ensure that the highest guest service standards, operational efficiency, and financial performance are achieved.


Key Responsibilities


  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue growth, working closely with the resort's culinary, spa, and activities teams.
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and the Vice President of Group Operations to implement the resort's strategic plan and achieve its financial and operational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with guests, suppliers, and local communities, ensuring that the resort is a positive force for social and environmental responsibility.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the resort, including front desk, housekeeping, engineering, security, spa, and other departments, ensuring that all guest service standards are met or exceeded.
  • Manage the resort's financial performance, including revenue generation, expense control, and budgeting.


Qualifications


  • Interest in surfing or other outdoor activities, and a willingness to explore and appreciate the local culture.
  • Passion for guest service and a commitment to excellence in all aspects of hotel operations.
  • Experience in creating world-class spa experiences is a positive.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and driving revenue growth.
  • Experience working in remote locations, with the ability to adapt to a unique and challenging environment.
  • Previous experience in the boutique luxury sector, such as Aman or Como, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • 10+ years of experience in hotel operations, with at least five years in a leadership role.
