As part of their growth strategy, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Finance Controller to join the team and contribute to the financial management and success of their operations.

Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, to provide accurate and timely financial reports to management.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and relevant regulatory requirements in the industry.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Monitor and track actual financial performance against budgeted figures, identifying variances and recommending corrective actions as needed.
• Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop annual budgets and financial forecasts for the fishery operations.

Cost Management:

• Implement cost control measures to optimize expenses across various aspects of the operations.
• Analyze cost structures and identify opportunities to reduce expenses while maintaining product quality and sustainability.

Financial Analysis:

• Present financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to support strategic decision-making.
• Conduct financial analysis to evaluate the financial viability of projects, new market opportunities, and investments in the sector.

Inventory Management:

• Oversee the inventory control process, including accurate tracking of seafood stock levels, valuation, and timely reporting of inventory movements.
• Implement inventory management strategies to minimize wastage and ensure efficient stock turnover.

Cash Flow Management:

• Manage banking relationships and negotiate favorable financing terms when required.
• Monitor cash flow and liquidity positions, making recommendations to optimize cash utilization and ensure sufficient working capital for fishery operations.

Compliance and Audit:

• Facilitate internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and ensuring adherence to audit recommendations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, tax laws, and industry-specific standards applicable to the industry.

Team Leadership:

• Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
• Provide guidance and professional development opportunities to enhance team members' skills and capabilities.

Requirements:

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively interacting with diverse stakeholders.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, budgeting, and cost management specific to the fishery industry.
• Familiarity with fishery-specific regulations and environmental sustainability practices is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, as well as advanced knowledge of spreadsheet applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities and the capability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CMA) are a plus.
• Proven experience as a Finance Controller or similar role in the agriculture or fishery industry or related sectors, with at least 7 years of experience.
