About The Engineering Manager (NodeJs/Java) Role

You will lead the tech team in growing their management as a team and their skillset to achieve the organisation's goal.

Key Responsibilities

• Build a high output team that produces software that is scalable, secure, high performant, and that follows operational best practices
• Foster a healthy collaborative engineering culture
• Integrate technical strategies to have a reliable application into the product roadmap
• Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop the engineering team to grow a high-performance engineering organisation
• Design an efficient workflow for the team
• Facilitate and review PRD into technical tasks and implementation design
• Maintain general cohesion of the team (via 1:1s, group hangout, etc.)
• Support and facilitate decision-making, whilst removing roadblocks
• Collaborate with the design, product, and engineering team for timely and high-quality delivery
• Cultivate a culture where team members are empowered and demonstrate a strong sense of ownership and belonging to the products

To succeed in this Engineering Manager (NodeJs/Java) role, you must have at least four years' experience in leading a tech team.

Key Requirements

• Five years of overall experience in tech with at least two years as an Engineering Manager
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field
• Familiar with these stacks: Git, Java (Spring Boot), Node JS (Nest JS), AWS, MySQL, Vue, React, HTML5, CSS, React Native, SNS, SQS, Redis, Solr
• Strong in implementing sprints
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and able to communicate effectively with other engineers, stakeholders, and management
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment with high levels of ownership
• Strong people and project management skills
• Passionate about building high-performing engineering teams with a great culture
• Deep understanding of programming, data structures, and algorithms
