Job Description

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Topgolf South Jakarta



The Director of Operations (DO) is a critical member of the executive team. The DO will head Topgolf South Jakarta and play a key role in growing the region’s most exciting sports & entertainment venue. He/she will initially oversee and co-manage the development of the venue and all related facilities while building a team of trusted directors, managers and employees. Once the venue is open, the DO will manage the day-to-day operations of the venue while working closely with the Regional MD and other senior executives to execute the company's strategy, attain key financial targets and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.


  • Developing and implementing business strategies: The DO works closely with the Regional MD to develop, customize/localize and implement Topgolf South Jakarta’s business strategy. This involves setting goals, identifying and developing opportunities to promote the venue through various campaigns and ensuring that the company is on track to meet its objectives.
  • Developing and managing budgets: The DO is responsible to co-develop, own and manage the company's budget and financial targets, including operational expenses, capital expenditures, and revenue projections. This involves working closely with the regional MD, CFO and other senior executives to ensure that the company is operating within its financial means. He/she will also need to work closely with the Sales & Marketing team to develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to maximize revenue.
  • Improving efficiency, productivity and satisfaction levels: The DO must have a keen eye and ears on the ground to quickly identify areas where the company can improve its efficiency and productivity to meet its financial or customer satisfaction targets. This may involve introducing new technologies or systems, quickly pivoting the operational standards and/or streamlining existing processes. He/she will also need to ensure a high level of guest satisfaction by responding to and resolving guest complaints and issues.
  • Managing relationships with investors, guests and customers: The COO is responsible for establishing and building long lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including but not limited to the company’s Board of Directors, the regional executive team, key industry players and influencers, guests and vendors.
  • Building the venue and preparing for pre-opening: The DO needs to collaborate with the Project Development team to oversee the physical build of the venue. He/she will work closely with the Project Development team to jointly ensure that the building is progressing on schedule, within budget and in-line with all design specifications. Whilst doing so, he/she will also be preparing the venue for the pre-opening, which will involve developing compelling sales & marketing campaigns and press releases via various channels to create awareness of the venue.
  • Managing daily operations: The DO is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Topgolf South Jakarta venue, including managing the brand, employees, processes and resources. Among others, he/she will need to ensure that the management team and departments are working effectively and that the organization is meeting its strategic and financial goals whilst adhering to Topgolf’s brand and operational guidelines.
  • Building and managing a team: The DO is responsible for recruiting, training and managing employees across all departments of the company. This includes establishing a compelling value proposition for attracting talent, building and leveraging on deep connections within the talent market, training and developing them in accordance with Topgolf’s standard, setting performance goals, providing feedback and coaching, and ensuring that employees have the resources and support they need to succeed. Besides this, the DO will conduct regular staff meetings and training sessions to ensure all employees are informed of policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations: The DO is responsible for ensuring that the company is complying with all relevant laws and regulations, including employment laws, safety regulations, and industry-specific regulations.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:


  • Strong command of both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • A minimum of 15 years of relevant, progressive experience, with the last 5 years being in a senior leadership role, preferably in hospitality, events, attractions, entertainment, sports, big box retail or multi-unit food & beverage/fast casual.
  • Proficiency in standard MS Office tools (PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Demonstrable leadership capabilities.

  • Local candidates and those with a right to live and work in Indonesia are strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Marketing & Sales, Finance or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in hiring, managing and developing high performance teams.
  • Demonstrable experience in managing the day-to-day running of a single venue business.
  • Friendly persona, great interpersonal skills and able to build connections quickly.
  • Financially savvy and understands how to guide the team strategically and operationally in meeting the financial objectives of the business.
