The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in collecting, selecting, and preparing remote sensing imagery and accurately labelling data and observations for our projects. As a Remote Sensing Analyst and Data Labeller, you will be responsible for processing and analysing remote sensing data, preparing imagery for analysis, and labelling data and observations based on specific criteria. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and expertise in remote sensing image analysis and data labelling. This position will be remote and requires excellent communication skills, technical knowledge, and a passion for the environment.
What are the main responsibilities of the role?
- Work with large remote sensing datasets to generate high quality atlases, and to extract meaningful information and insights.
- Analyze remote sensing data to extract meaningful information and insights.
- Implement data management workflows and databases.
- Develop and design sampling strategies and efficient and transparent accuracy assessment methods.
- Provide insights and recommendations for improving remote sensing image analysis and data labelling processes.
- Identify and annotate objects, features, or patterns within the remote sensing imagery.
- Select, collect, and prepare remote sensing imagery for analysis by enhancing, calibrating, and correcting images as needed.
- Provide training and technical support to project teams and users on data collection tools and methods.
- Collaborate with the project team to refine data labelling criteria and ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Develop data collection forms, surveys, and questionnaires, and adequate quality assessment.
What do we expect from you?
Requirements:
- Experience in processing and analyzing remote sensing imagery, using radar, optical sensors (e.g., Landsat and Sentinel), and high-resolution imagery. for various applications.*
- Proficiency in remote sensing software and tools, such as QGIS, ArcGIS, ENVI, and/or Google Earth Engine.*
- Familiarity with data annotation and labelling tools and workflows.
- Attention to detail and ability to accurately label data and observations based on specific criteria.*
- Familiarity with land cover change challenges and environmental issues.
- Strong knowledge of remote sensing principles, including image processing, feature extraction, and classification Previous experience in remote sensing image analysis, data labelling, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience in using data labelling tools such as Open Foris, including Collect, Data, and Calc or equivalent.*
Nice to have:
- Experience in cartographic design and dynamic mapping
- Experience working with multi-temporal remote sensing data.
- Programming skills in Python or R.
- Experience in working with large datasets and distributed computing.
