Job Summary

All businesses are concerned about revenues and costs; and to maximize sustainability to innovate, frugality and efficiency are key. So leaders in Style Theory must understand how revenues and costs behave or risk losing control of the performance of their firms. Cost Accounting Specialist helps to provide this information to make decisions whether investment on certain costs, whether in product development, marketing initiatives, operations, logistics, budgets, and services to customers is at its maximum, can be improved, or should be cutted-away. It will lead to decisions such as reducing costs, incur additional costs, customer satisfaction and quality and to develop a new product. Enhancing revenues and profits to enter a new market, shape new products or processes

Cost Accounting Specialist will own the process of measuring, analyzing and reporting financial and nonfinancial information related to the costs of acquitting or using resources in an organization in a way that increases a product’s value to customers and achieves an organization goals.

Responsibilities And Duties

Cost and Managerial Accounting

• Monthly cost analysis and report, which should include (but not limited to):
• Assisting or preparing:
• The premium prices a company can charge over its costs from the distinctive product or service features
• Fashion acquisition and other buying activities
• Customer servicing
• Ad-hoc cost analysis such as Marketing Campaign Productivity
• Usage of asset value
• Quarterly report of company’s cost productivity analysis (Cost Performance Report),
• Asset acquisition, acquitting, and cost reconciliation (manual vs backend data)
• Warehouse activities
• Other development projects
• Customer acquisition and customer servicing cost
• Summary of job or activity-based costing and management, process costing, cost allocation (when applicable)
• Assisting in the preparation of quarterly and year-end audit schedules, when needed
• In some cases, providing information about the sources of competitive advantages, such as
• Marketing campaigns or other activities
• Company’s cost, productivity, or efficiency advantage relative to competitors
• Together with Financial Accounting and Consolidation Specialist, reviewing and ensuring validity of data provided for monthly closing activities for cost and buying activities, such as backend data, PO or other buying documents, trade deposits, fixed assets register, amortization, accruals (advances and prepaid/deposits), etc,
• Keeping track and measuring most material financial and non-financial information related to cost of using resources and asset acquitting of both cost-center units and investment-center units. Some activities involved are:

Cost Control System and Other Cost Management Improvement

• Assisting special projects as requested by the business
• Assisting preparation of operating budget
• Setting up system or improvement of relevant Management Control Systems, which can provide closure of ST’s costs (including sold, disposed, lost, and defective assets) and investment in all countries of operation. Activities include (and not limited to):
• Setting up a system or leading improvement initiative on value chain and cost analysis, as we as streamlining process of cost accounting
• Setting up cost measurement and control system of new products
• Maintaining internal control documentation and tests internal controls.
• Reviewing and analyzing inventory and variance reports and performs analytical studies.

Qualifications And Skills

• Advanced computer skills with an emphasis on Microsoft Excel with effective communication in English
• Understand the concept of tax, transfer pricing, and other multinational considerations
• Deep understanding of cost behaviors, analysis practice, use, and common approaches, so qualified candidate can suggest how different costs for different purposes are measured and controlled differently
• Ability to analyze problems, conceptualize solution, and comfortable to work in uncharted areas. (only data entry experienced candidates will not be considered as qualified candidates)
• Bachelor’s Degree from reputable university (Accounting or Finance major), with minimum GPA 3.3 on a scale 4.0 scale.
• Experience in a startup, e-commerce, technology, or similar fast and dynamic environment
• Minimum 3 years related experience in cost accounting is required with a good knowledge of IFRS and Indonesian GAAP (if no experience in Big 4), and tax related to procurement and transfer of goods
