At Jiva, we are working to build a stealth profit-for-purpose / agtech venture with a mission to improve the lives of smallholder farmers in developing markets. Our platform will enable smallholder farmers to:

• Grow more effectively and sustainably, increasing yield and incomes through AI and satellite-powered personalised farming advice, delivered through intuitive channels such as voice, chat and video;
• Sell their farming produce at the best price, which involves digitising key parts of the agriculture supply chain with IoT and online-to-offline capabilities.
• Borrow microfinance to fund farm growth and increase financial inclusion; and,
• Buy much-needed farming inputs (such as seeds and fertilizers) at discounted prices;

About this opportunity:
We are looking for an exceptional Branch Manager who is passionate about our mission, to help lead the founding team of the Venture.
Location:

• Gorontalo City
• Bandar Lampung
• Sumbawa

What you will do:
As the Branch Manager you’re responsible for inspiring your team, create ownership opportunities, and to deliver on the following key dimensions.
Strategic effectiveness:

• You will demonstrate sound judgement within defined practices and policies and select techniques for obtaining solutions that will contribute to future results and successes.
• You will contribute to the design and implementation of the business & operations road map, as well as managing the procurement, sales and supply chain strategy for the product(s), in a region within the country.
• You will participate and contribute to continuous development of Jiva platform with the objective of providing better solutions and experience to Farmers, Micro Collectors (MC), Jiva team and other stakeholders, while creating a robust business model for Jiva
• Your strong financial acumen, ability to read and comprehend tasks such as counterparty and credit risk management, will enhance our existing platform.

Operational effectiveness:

• You will be able to build an engaged team & implement required infrastructure, to deliver Farmers & MC growth, volumes, revenue & margins as per the business plan.
• You will also be required to interface with appropriate regulatory bodies for obtaining permissions, approvals, etc.
• You will be responsible for optimal utilization of company resources and derive maximum capacity efficiencies by eliminating controllable losses.

Organizational effectiveness:

• You should have a demonstrated ability of actively building your teams - hiring, training, and developing team members.
• You will be comfortable engaging with key stakeholders in Country team & Product Development Group, including formal business reviews and ongoing continuous improvement initiatives with the leadership teams.
• You will be responsible for supporting the Head of Operations in buying & selling decisions (of agri-inputs & agri-produce) with robust demand & supply planning & by providing adequate and timely market information and analysis.

Who we are looking for:

• A good demonstrated track record as a Branch Manaer in Olam’s primary procurement operations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise between multiple stakeholders, using new-age collaboration tools
• Keenness to understand potential of new-age technologies & solutions and applying them in day-to-day operations for customer delight.
