• Assists in the selection, training, evaluation and rewarding of employees as directed.
• Assists in maintaining efficient administration within the engineering department.
• Assists in the preparation of duty rosters, vacation plans and public holiday scheduling.
• Ensures sufficient amount of spare parts are always on hand.
• Assists in the establishment of inventory procedures and control.
• Maintains facilities and equipment by conducting routine inspections and determining appropriate rectification measures.
• Assists in the maintenance and monitoring of established safety and emergency procedures.
• Ensures the implementation and follow up of energy conservation programmes.
• Liaises with purchasing and suppliers to ensure provision of quality engineering supplies at most competitive prices.
• Coaches, counsels, disciplines and develops subordinate employees.
• Is aware of all aspects of all technical features and maintenance requirements of the Resort, including among others, the following: elevators, water treatment, drainage and sewage, swimming pool system, kitchen equipment, fire alarm system, phone system.
• Maintains systems to be able to handle day-to-day guest requests quickly and efficiently.
• Monitors the standard of work carried out by contractors engaged by the hotel to ensure that it meets the agreed quality.
• Ensures the implementation and follow up of ongoing preventive maintenance programmes.
• Directs and controls all subordinate Engineering staff to ensure that all day-to-day operational matters are handled on time and that guest expectations are met.
• Assists in the monitoring and controlling of the hotel’s annual R&M budget.

Requirements

• 3 to 7 years of related experience
• Bachelor or Masters Degree or full professional qualification

Essential Job Skills

• Good organisational skills
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of individuals
• Good Indonesian and sound English language skills
• Sound working knowledge of Engineering practice

Desirable Job Skills

• Ability to work a personal computer
• Proven track record in hotel of similar standard in similar capacity in Asia/Pacific
• Good administrative abilities
• Ability to grow into Chief Engineer role

Physical Requirements

• In possession of all faculties
• Strong stamina
