Due to an internal promotion, Metso Outotec is looking for a Testwork Engineer to join the Minerals team in Perth. This is a 12 month contract.

Responsibilities Include

• Establish metallurgical parameters for laboratory and pilot test work.
• Assist the Sales team with the development of client relationships and provide early sales leads.
• Conduct test work for technologies (e.g., Filtration, Crushing, Grinding and Thickening) as needed.
• Liaise with clients on their test work requirements and develop test work plan in conjunction with Technology Managers and Test Work Manager.
• Responsibility for QA lab procedures.
• Carry out metallurgical and development test work on various metallurgical treatment plants.
• Maintenance planning and implementation for pilot equipment.
• Maintenance of test reporting database and hazardous chemical databases (MSDS'S).
• Preparation and or maintenance of pilot equipment operating and maintenance manuals.
• Carry out laboratory and pilot testing for thickening and other metallurgical process applications including report writing.
• Use data to obtain scale up to industrial equipment in association with sales staff.
• Specific research and development projects.
• Conduct test work in a safe and professional manner for our clients including maintaining a modern laboratory facility and pilot plant units.
• Responsibility for laboratory purchases and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

TO SUCCEED

• You will have 3-5 years’ experience in the mineral processing industry or chemical processing industries.
• Strong practical mechanical and process problem solving skills and ability to perform complex analytical calculations.
• Tertiary qualifications in metallurgy, chemical or mineral processing will be highly regarded.
• Excellent report writing skills along with your demonstrated ability to consult with internal and external customers along with a methodical and consistent approach to routine test work is essential.
