  • Ensure fair labor practices, health, and safety standards for forestry workers and promote diversity and inclusion within the company.
  • Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive ESG strategies that align with the company's mission, values, and business goals.
  • Engage with local communities, indigenous groups, and stakeholders to address concerns and foster positive relationships.
  • Stay abreast of relevant regulations, standards, and emerging ESG trends in the forestry industry.
  • Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and industry best practices, adapting strategies as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability principles into all aspects of the company's operations
  • Integrate ESG considerations into the company's governance structure and decision-making processes.
  • Design and oversee sustainable forest management plans that prioritize biodiversity conservation, carbon sequestration, and ecosystem health
  • Align ESG initiatives with the company's overall business strategy and financial objectives.
  • Work closely with senior management to establish a clear long-term vision for the company's sustainability journey.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure transparency and accountability.
The Successful Applicant
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, laws, and certifications
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Proven experience in sustainability management, preferably within the forestry or natural resources sector.
  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks, industry standards, and sustainable business practices.
  • Proficiency in project management, strategic planning, and implementation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Forestry, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams.
