Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Java Software Engineer to join a startup with globally distributed teams. As a Java Software Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining both front-end and back-end components of software applications. You should have extensive experience in Java along with a solid understanding of web servers and AWS.


Responsibilities:

  • Integrate 3rd party APIs and services to extend application functionalities and enhance user experience.
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy Java-based web applications with a focus on performance, security, and scalability.
  • Work with AWS services and infrastructure to deploy, monitor, and scale applications in the cloud environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to application performance, functionality, and integrations.
  • Utilize web servers and container technologies to deploy and manage applications effectively.
  • Implement and optimize database schemas and queries to ensure data integrity and efficient performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.


Requirements:

  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards tackling challenges.
  • Hands-on experience with web servers and application containers such as Apache Tomcat, NGINX, or similar.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proficiency in working with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle.
  • Experience integrating 3rd party APIs and web services into applications.
  • Proven experience as a Java Engineer with a strong understanding of Java programming principles and design patterns.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (Amazon Web Services), and their associated services.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Fluency in English as you will be working with fellow English speakers.
