The Fulfilment Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) team in Grab is responsible for the reliability and scalability of the fulfillment platform that powers Grab’s ride-hailing and delivery businesses.

Get to Know the Role

As the SRE team, we strive to automate and limit time spent on day-to-day operational work while working with the fulfillment engineering teams to identify bottlenecks and prevent outages before they even happen.

The Day-to-Day Activities:

• Working in a regional organization with offices across different countries and cultures and facilitating collaboration across these different teams.
• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services - from design and development through deployment, operation, and refinement. Helping to identify and resolve performance and scalability issues
• Be part of a team responsible for one of the largest cloud-based services in South East Asia.
• Help improve reliability, and stability and tackle scalability challenges alongside engineering teams with a keen focus on automation
• Be part of on-call for the services we own, and participate in post-mortems for any incidents
• Collaborate with the product, business, and other engineering teams to create systems that are highly available and able to scale seamlessly.

The Must-Haves:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines such as Gitlab CI/CD or Jenkins
• 2+ years of professional experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a similar role.
• Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, etc.)
• Experience in one or more of: Go, Python
• Communicates competently in English
• Possess analytical skills, mental resilience, and the ability to think systematically under stressful conditions
• Experience with cloud computing technologies from vendors such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform
• Highly accountable and takes ownership. Outstanding work ethic, high integrity, team player, and a lifelong learner
• Experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes

The Nice-to-Haves:

• A degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology or a related field
• Hands-on experience with the Go programming language
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform and Ansible
