Job Description

PT ASINUSA PUTRA SEKAWAN is a Port Business Entity that provides port services within its operational area in the Nipa Transshipment and Anchorage Area (NTAA). Aiming to be a leading international port hub, ASINUSA needs to be supported by a strong, active, and skillful Legal Team.

The Legal Division in ASINUSA steers the legal dimension and ensures the overall follow-up of all ASINUSA legal activities, provides legal advice, drafting, and documentation, and establishes the company policies of ASINUSA. In addition, the Department assists all other departments in contract preparation, negotiation, and interpretation and manages all procurements, contracts, grants, and other agreements. It shall also ensure compliance with relevant legislation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that all operational activities of ASINUSA comply with the applicable regulatory framework;
  • Follow up on the lifecycle of required permits and licenses;
  • Contribute to the preparation and development of internal rules and procedures and high-level document management.
  • Assist with the management of external support or advisers;
  • Contribute to the identification, assessment, and management of potential risks associated with ASINUSA legal, procurement, and contract management activities;
  • Contribute to managing a team of professionals, including setting targets, monitoring performance, and supporting the development of junior team members;
  • Provide support when requested, in leading and coordinating specific areas, practices, projects, and/or teams;
  • Contribute to general tasks of other relevant departments, such as planning, budgeting, and reporting;
  • Provide legal advice to the relevant departments;
  • Follow up on contract implementation and performance throughout the lifecycle of contracts;
  • Provide specialist legal and procedural advice to ensure that ASINUSA acts within its statutory and regulatory obligations;
  • Provide legal advice and support the interfaces with key stakeholders (e.g., Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Ministry of Finance, Finance and Development Supervisory Agency/BPKP, etc.);
  • Represent the Legal and Procurement Department in external meetings, working groups, conferences, seminars, and networks and report to management;
  • Advise on issues potentially giving rise to litigation, provide legal advice, and manage litigation cases;
  • Identify legal issues associated with ASINUSA’s activities to prevent legal risks and develop solutions;

Qualifications


Essential Criteria

  • Extensive experience in the provision of legal advice and drafting, negotiation, interpretation, and enforcement of contracts (including complex legal constructions) min. 2 (two) years;
  • Knowledge and experience of both Indonesian and International legal and institutional frameworks in the field of port and maritime services;
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken English.
  • University degree in Law;

Advantageous Criteria

  • Proven experience in procurement/grant and contract management, including high-tech and/or high-value contracts;
  • Knowledge (by training or experience) of port and maritime services regulatory framework, policy, and stakeholders;
  • Knowledge and experience in handling matters related to the governance of corporate and/or institutional bodies;
  • Experience in managing a team.
  • Knowledge (by training or experience) of the field of protection of intellectual property;
