Under the direction of the Technical Services Manager, we're looking for a Quality Control Technician capable of:

• Ensuring that the proper forms are completed when setting up a lab, tearing down a lab for a move, and at end of the season.
• Performing testing of construction materials, including but not limited to aggregates and hot mix asphalt.
• Working primarily outdoors on asphalt paving sites.
• Working together with an asphalt paving crew to ensure quality standards are met.
• Performing sampling of construction materials from various locations within the region, including both permanent and portable crushing, washing, and asphalt plants.
• Standing and working in the elements for extended periods of time.

What Do You Need

• Have the ability to work varied hours with a flexible schedule.
• Be capable of performing mathematical calculations required for necessary daily job duties.
• Must be punctual and dependable.
• Be able to tolerate and work in variable weather conditions, and work in dirty and dusty environments.
• High School diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
• Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record.
• The ability to frequently lift 50+ pounds.
• Strong interpersonal, organization and communication skills, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
• Previous laboratory experience or a scientific background is a plus.
• The ability to effectively handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision, must be a self-starter.
