Process Engineer - Fatty Acid

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Provides technical support to assigned unit in plant operations to meet plant production schedules standards. Identifies process problems, carries out studies and recommends solutions, and implements improvements in coordination with Operations and Project Engineering.

To monitor efficiency and yield in the production, also to lead and coordinate all activities related to continuous improvement, new technology implementation, production trial run, changes in raw material and process condition and projects that related with new equipment installation or addition of new lines.

1. Review detail process engineering deliverables, request for quotations (RFQs), Technical quotations, technical bids evaluation (TBE), hazard and operability (HAZOP), and 3D Module Review during the project phase.

2. Review SOPs, Pre-commissioning, Commissioning, Start-Up and normal operating procedures including safety, emergency and shutdowns.

3. Conduct process training sessions for Operations personnel

4. Ensure that MOC procedure is applied to plants changes.

5. Ensure that project communicated changes are reflected in all technical documents (PFDs, P&IDs, Data Sheets. Etc.), in compliance with operation philosophy and not exceeding design utilities capacities.

6. Follow up with the project team on all technical action items generated by CSU program and ensure timely closure.

7. Provide technical support to CSU (commissioning and start-up) team during commissioning and startup phases.

8. Support PSSR & HSE- Technical Compliance Audit if needed

9. Provide technical support to shift operations for plants’ monitoring and troubleshooting till reaching design capacity and on-spec products.

10. Optimizing process performance and ensure continuous work improvement by effectively analyzing the process parameters in order to meet the production targets.

11. Review and execute process related performance tests provided by equipment’s vendors either as separate procedure or as part of the overall plant performance test.

12. Study/analyze plant design and performance to assure operability and safety of units at optimum operating conditions.

13. Lead technical team in performing all test-runs. This includes RFSU (Ready for Start-Up test), PAT (Performance Acceptance Test with Licensors), Commercial (Lenders Acceptance Test), new product test, Catalyst Change-out test, and revamp test. This requires preparing monitoring data sheets in advance.

14. Participate in the daily Operations meetings at the assigned unit with Operations personnel. Review the last 24 hours plant’s performance (plant’s throughput, product’s spec., problems encountered and utilities/chemicals consumption.

15. Analyze collected data, identify deviations and advice process recommendations for corrective solutions.

16. Conduct short/long-term feasibility studies to optimize plant’s performance and issue technical report addressed to operations and other concerned departments as convenient. The report shall include recommended future modifications and associated benefits compared to current situation.

17. Prepare periodical technical presentations/reports, provide process engineering coverage during emergencies/shutdowns and represent PED in various technical meetings.

18. Perform production data analysis and implement continuous improvement.

19. Perform troubleshooting in production related to operational issue, productivity and product quality.

20. Coordinate with Quality Assurance regarding the plant validation and product validation.

21. Coordinate with Quality Assurance regarding product quality improvement.

22. Coordinate with maintenance regarding reliability improvement.

23. Change recipe or process condition.

24. As a company representative to control the projects to achieved performance guarantee and fulfill company requirement.

25. Ensure the all activity conducted by requirement of quality, food safety, environment, occupational ,health and safety.

SKILLS AND KEY REQUIREMENTS

1. Capable to operate MS Windows, MS Office
2. Minimum 3 years experience in Manufacturing
3. Capable to calculate the data thoroughly and accurate
4. Strong analytical thinking abilities.
5. Capable to handle the plant / oleochemical manufacturing
6. Have knowledge about employment ‘s rule
7. Have highly integrity, honestly, highly motivation, highly analytical, has strong problem-solving skills, good self interpersonal and can work personally or team
8. Have strong leadership skills and able to lead a big team
9. Can use English well by writing or speaking
