The Compliance and Risk Management team ensures that Shopee complies with applicable regulations and is primed for success with the right checks and balances while safeguarding the interests of our stakeholders in an inclusive and sustainable digital ecosystem. The team manages potential risks to the company's operations and reputation through risk assessments, internal fraud control, employee training as well as the implementation of information technology policy and cyber security tools.

• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, fraud schemes, and regulatory requirements to enhance detection and prevention capabilities.
• Conduct comprehensive investigations into suspected cases of ethical/policy breach, following established protocols and legal requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including legal, risk, and human resources, to gather information and ensure proper handling of investigations.
• Communicate effectively with regional teams, providing regular updates on investigation progress and sharing insights on trends and patterns.
• Conduct interviews with employees, witnesses, and relevant stakeholders to gather information and evidence during the investigative process.
• Collect and analyze evidence, including financial records, transactional data, and other relevant information to identify ethical/policy breach and determine the responsible parties.
• Provide training and awareness programs to educate employees about risks, prevention strategies, and reporting mechanisms.
• Assist in the development and implementation of fraud prevention strategies, policies, and procedures.
• Prepare detailed investigation reports that document findings, conclusions, and recommendations for remedial actions or process improvements.
• Develop and implement proactive detection techniques, including data analytics, to identify potential harmful activities and mitigate risks.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of working experience in investigation, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality and integrity
• Bachelor's degree from a renowned university, preferable majoring in Criminal Justice, Finance, or Business Administration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify patterns, anomalies, and trends.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of quantitative patterns, investigative techniques, and forensic accounting principles.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information effectively in English.
• Knowledge of local regulations, and industry best practices related to offence prevention and investigation.
