Import Export Manager Jobs

Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers, customers, and other stakeholders
• Supervise the work of import/export staff and provide guidance and direction as needed
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tariffs, quotas, and other restrictions that may affect the company’s ability to import/export goods
• Keep abreast of developments in the import/export industry and identify new opportunities for the company
• Resolve any issues that may arise during the course of shipment
• Monitor shipments to ensure that they are delivered in a timely and efficient manner
• Understand and comply with all laws and regulations governing the import/export of goods in the country
• Negotiate with government officials to obtain import/export licenses and permits as needed
• Prepare and submit required documentation to government agencies in a timely and accurate manner
• Develop and implement strategies to minimize the impact of these restrictions on the company
• Manage the import/export department budget and keep costs under control
• Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other third parties to ensure that shipments are processed smoothly and in compliance with all laws and regulations

Skills and Qualifications

• Ability to work independently and with a team
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• 7+ years experience in import/export operations or a similar role
• In-depth knowledge of import/export regulations and compliance requirements (KITE, BLCKT, and etc.)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Willing to place in BSD and travel another city if needed
• Min. Bachelor’s degree in business, international trade, or related field
