Who we are looking for:

You will work in a team of engineers to build new web and mobile app experiences from the ground-up, as well as integrate new features. You are expected to be a hands-on manager who excels in a dynamic, fast-moving, and agile environment building high quality, high performance and scalable solutions. You will be expected to work equally between product, design, and engineering.

What you will work on:

If this is you, you’ll be working with our Engineering team and performing these key tasks:

• Contribute towards test automation, performance testing and troubleshooting.
• Develop plans outlining steps and time tables for developing programs, communicate plan status to management and other development team members.
• Have a passion for designing and building complex modules that meet functional and business requirements on schedule and within budget.
• Perform unit/module testing of software to find errors and confirm programs meet specifications.
• Participate in design and code reviews with other developers.
• Thrive in an environment that balances autonomy with teamwork, rewards divergent as well as convergent thinking, and values your participation in long-term and short-term product decisions.
• Evaluate impact of software performance and recommend changes to software design teams.
• Continuously evaluate progress and guide the Agile Team towards delivering against the non-functional requirements.
• Provide input to establish and improve departmental processes and procedures.
• Write and maintain documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, testing, changes, and corrections.
• Verify that the work adheres to the reference architecture or informs its evolution.
• Mentor, train, develop and serve as a knowledge resource for less experienced Software Engineers.
• Take pride in providing assistance to QA and Support personnel as needed to determine system problems and solutions.
• Work in cadence with our teams, embracing a mindset of rapid learning, experimentation, iteration, and close collaboration.
• Build strong, collaborative relationships with Product Managers, Engineering, Support, and field teams, who assist in product development and adoption.

Qualifications:

• Solid experience interfacing and integrating with all kinds of SQL (Postgres or MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis) databases
• Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills
• Solid knowledge of JavaScript/Node/React, Java, web services (REST/JSON);
• An intellectually curious, quick study who will learn the business quickly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to grasp and convey complex product requirements or technical concepts.
• 8+ years of proven experience in designing, implementing and maintaining high performance, high availability, large-scale platforms and applications.
• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Explaining complex technical concepts to designers, support, and other engineers is no problem for you
• 4+ Experience building and managing highly effective engineering teams, conducting performance reviews, making compensation decisions and recruiting talent.
• Knowledgeable in software architecture design, coding, algorithms, and debugging
• Strong Agile skills and proven track record for product delivery;
• Understanding of AWS basics and CI/CD processes is a plus
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience or other evidence of exceptional ability
