Role Description
As a Foreman Surveyor at SKMA, you will be responsible for leading and supervising a team of surveyors in our mining operation in Kendawangan. In this full-time on-site role, your main tasks will include conducting surveys, creating maps and layouts, managing survey records, as well as providing guidance and support to your team of surveyors.
Description
- Collect and process data to create accurate maps, plans, and 3D models.
- Determination and creation of IUP boundaries and benchmarks
- Plan and execute surveys for mining exploration, development, and production phases.
- Conduct topographic surveys, boundary surveys, and volumetric calculations.
- Measurement of cargo stock taking
- Photodrone capture
- Delegate tasks, set priorities, and ensure efficient and safe work practices.
- Utilize surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, laser scanners, and drones.
- Carry out data collection (pickup) sample data and test pit exploration team.
- Conducting stakeout and survey of drill points and test pits
- Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide accurate data for decision-making.
- Analyze survey data to support mine planning, development, and optimization.
- Perform topographic data collection/measurements
- Generate reports, maps, and diagrams to communicate survey results to mine management and engineering teams.
- Collecting land boundary measurement data.
Qualifications
- The capacity to address and resolve surveying challenges and issues that may arise during operations.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the mining industry
- Bachelor's degree in Geodesy or related fields
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and independently with minimal supervision
- Mining environments can be physically demanding. Foreman Surveyors should be in good physical condition and able to work in challenging conditions.
- Familiarity with specific software for data processing, analysis, and mapping.
- A strong commitment to safety is paramount in the mining industry. You should be well-versed in mining safety protocols and be able to enforce them effectively.
- Strong knowledge and skills in surveying tools and software, such as GPS, Total Station, and AutoCAD
- Stay updated with advancements in surveying technology, mining practices, and regulations through ongoing professional development and training
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of silica sand mining operations, processes, and terminology.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments and equipment, such as total stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, laser scanners, and drone technology.
- Knowledge of specialized mine surveying techniques and practices.
- Knowledge of mining regulations, safety standards, and environmental compliance in the mining industry.
