About The Role


To support growth and development within the industry, BMA is offering a number of Traineeships at our Daunia Mine Processing Plant. This program provides motivated and passionate electrical or mechanical tradespeople outside of the mining industry or processing environment the opportunity to commence their career within the mining industry while learning new skills and experiencing life on site. Individuals will be equipped with the resources and support needed to establish a dynamic and fulfilling career within Mining.


The Daunia open cut coal mine is located in Queensland, Australia and is located SW of Mackay. The mine commenced coal production in March 2013 and is the world's first fully autonomous haul truck coal mine. At Daunia we are always continuing to improve and drive standardisation through best practice and technology. The Daunia Processing Plant operates an operator maintainer model comprising of mechanical and electrical tradespersons who are trained and qualified to operate the processing plant.


In undertaking this two year traineeship you can expect hands on industry-lead training and mentoring by BMA’s talented workforce, first-rate working conditions, upskilling of your trade qualification to work in mining and a nationally recognised qualification in Resource Processing on successful completion. This opportunity is being offered on a 7 on, 7 off Day/Night roster located located at Daunia Mine, 60km west of Moranbah with flexible travel arrangements available.


Nationally Accredited Certificates On Offer Include
  • Cert III in Resource Processing
  • Fixed Plant Processing Operator Maintainer

To Be Successful In Our Traineeship You Will Have

  • Electrical or Mechanical Trade qualification preferred, new to industry are encouraged to apply.
