Job Description

About Our Client
The client is a leading garment manufacturer.

  • Leading by Example: Lead through actions that align consistently with the Group's core values and culture. knowledge gained.
  • Production Capacity Planning: Collaborate with Production Managers & Assistant Sewing Managers to strategize and prepare the Factory's complete capacity (efficiency, SMV, headcount) according to order projections.
  • Seeking Feedback: Actively solicit feedback on personal effectiveness from relevant stakeholders.
  • Resolving Customer-Company Issues: Establish a swift conflict resolution process for conflicts between customer and company demands.
  • Equipment Enhancement: Formulate and implement the annual Production machinery plan, encompassing the addition of new machinery, the replacement, and upgrade of existing equipment in line with Group guidelines. Hold the Mechanic accountable for introducing and advancing new machine technologies, work aids, modifications, and automation designs to further enhance manufacturing output and quality.
  • Manufacturing Strategy: Develop and gain approval for the Factory's annual Business Plan within the framework of the Plant's Annual Operating Plan.
  • Plant Objectives: Responsible for overseeing day-to-day factory operations and contributing to the Annual Operating Plan.
  • Managing Garment Output: Hold individual and collective direct reports accountable for timely and high-quality garment production in line with customer expectations.
  • Successor Development for Direct Reports: Identify and prepare at least two potential successors for direct reports within the designated timeframe specified by the Factory.
  • Enhancing Structure: Continuously enhance the Factory's organizational structure, sewer-to-non-sewer ratio, role definitions, and cross-functional workflow to optimize the effective recruitment, deployment, and guidance of personnel in Manufacturing.
  • Line Allocation: Coordinate with the Planner to distribute orders to Production lines for the optimal output of individual lines and the Factory as a whole.
  • Business Context Communication: Provide the broader context in which direct reports need to plan and execute their work.
  • Process Development: Create, obtain approval for, share (within the Factory and across functions), and periodically update critical Factory functional policies, procedures, work processes, and methods to align with Plant and Group directives.
  • Reinforcement and Backing: Utilize the Group's core values as guiding principles for daily decisions, and visibly support Group initiatives aimed at reinforcing the core values and culture.
  • Measuring Performance: Set up metrics and systems to track and report on overall Factory department performance.
  • People Management: In line with the approved Manufacturing structure and role definitions:
  • Coaching: Provide guidance to direct reports to exhibit behavior in line with the Group's core values and culture. * Self-Assessment: Take ownership of self-assessment to identify avenues for enhancing personal effectiveness in the current role.
  • Handling Cross-Functional Conflicts: Create an efficient process for swiftly addressing internal cross-functional work conflicts.
  • Optimal Work Environment: Monitor the work environment to ensure alignment with country, customer, and Plant occupational health and safety standards and guidelines, covering both physical conditions and employee work practices.
  • Personal Alignment: Demonstrate a deep understanding of and personal commitment to the Group's fundamental values and culture.
  • Factory Performance Oversight: Monitor and report on performance compared to agreed-upon targets/budget, analyze deviations, take action to address production shortfalls, and provide early alerts to PMC & Marketing about production challenges to prevent negative impacts on customers.
  • SMART Goals for Team Members: Provide context to direct reports by communicating Factory's Business and Annual Departmental Operating Plans for the development of their annual SMART Goals. Approve these SMART Goals.
  • Mentoring and Career Growth: Introduce mentoring and career development initiatives with individual employees one level below, taking into account future workforce needs, individual potential, and personal interests.
  • Driving Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on and recommend novel technologies, tools, methods, and talent available in the market to boost Manufacturing's delivery capabilities. Share these improvements with other Plants and actively adopt enhancements from other Plants where suitable.
The Successful Applicant
  • Familiarity with business analysis in the context of production, and a background in Lean manufacturing
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English; knowledge of the local language is advantageous
  • Experience in Bonding Product Manufacturing is a plus Based in Indonesia and available for occasional travel.
  • Adept at Presenting Data, Possesses Strong Presentation and Communication Skills
  • Willing to be based in Central Java
  • Holds a Bachelor's Degree in any field, with preference for Industrial Engineering
  • A minimum of 10 years' experience within garment manufacturing (strong), with at least 5 years in a managerial or executive role
  • Demonstrates Strategic Thinking, Independence, Robust Leadership, and Project Management Skills with a Change-oriented Mindset
  • Proven Track Record in Successfully Managing Large-scale Garment Manufacturing Operations (2,000+ workers) in South/Southeast Asia
