Job Description
A rapidly expanding FMCG company is seeking a talented Demand Planning Assistant Manager to take on a newly created role in Jakarta, Indonesia. In this job, you will lead a team and be responsible for all countries planning-related functions.


About The Demand Planning Assistant Manager Role


Reporting to the S&OP Manager, your primary responsibility will be to support the S&OP Manager in developing and implementing demand forecasting strategies to optimise inventory levels and meet customer demands. You will play a vital role in analysing historical sales data, monitoring market trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate demand forecasts and effective inventory management.


Key Responsibilities


  • Demand Forecasting: Collaborate with the all country heads to develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical sales data, market trends, and input from sales, marketing, and other relevant departments. Ensure accuracy and alignment with business objectives
  • Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments that may impact demand patterns. Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to support demand forecasting accuracy and business planning
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with the supply chain team to optimise inventory levels by balancing customer demands, production capabilities, and lead times. Monitor and manage inventory performance metrics, such as stock levels, stock-outs, and excess inventory, and recommend appropriate actions to maintain optimal inventory levels
  • Demand Planning Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve demand planning processes, methodologies, and tools. Identify opportunities for process automation, standardisation, and efficiency enhancement to drive productivity and accuracy in demand forecasting
  • Reporting and Presentation: Prepare regular reports and presentations on demand planning performance, forecasting accuracy, inventory metrics, and relevant insights. Communicate findings, recommendations, and action plans to stakeholders and senior management
  • Data Analysis: Analyse sales data, market trends, and other relevant data sources to identify patterns, demand drivers, and potential risks. Utilise statistical models, forecasting tools, and software to support data-driven decision-making
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, production, and finance, to gather input, validate forecasts, and align on demand planning strategies. Foster effective communication and build strong relationships to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of demand-related information


To succeed in the Demand Planning Assistant Manager (FMCG) job, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with senior business development teams, across borders and internal matrix.


Key Requirements


  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical skills with expertise in data analysis, statistical modelling, and forecasting techniques
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset to identify and address demand planning challenges
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, statistics, or a related field
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Proven experience (e.g. three to five years) in demand planning, forecasting, or a related role, preferably in a fast-paced consumer goods or manufacturing industry
  • Proficiency in demand planning software and tools (e.g., ERP systems, statistical software, Excel) is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, inventory management, and market dynamics
