Cost Control Lead, People

The People team plays a crucial organisational role in Shopee by channeling important resources to key functions in the company. People are key to Shopee’s growth, and as our business expands, so does the need to develop and support our employees.

• Review and challenge the budget proposal given by stakeholders by analyzing whether the spending & numbers make sense.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to do further analysis on whether there are outages and non-compliances items on the spending according to the company policy & regulation.
• Act as budget & spending checker, ensure that the purchase requests submitted by the stakeholders have been budgeted before, using the right budget code & GL account.
• Lead People related budgeting process on a quarterly basis and liaise with People team stakeholders on their respective budget plan for the next quarter and within the year
• Create & analyze actual spending reports and explore potential cost-saving initiatives & budget optimization.

Requirements

• Understand PR PO systems
• Minimum 5 years experience handling budget and planning
• Bachelor's degree in fields such as business, finance, or management
• High analytical skills and understanding forecasting methods.
• Proficient in MS Office and Google Suite
